SHORT TERM GOAL

With my family being re-united in Uganda. The only thing left is to get them with me. But because that is not going to happen overnight, I need to support them until they will be granted that Refugee status. With help from here and there, I may be able to help them but I do not know how long they for I came with this plan to get them use the people help to be self sufficient as they say “ do not give me fish, teach me how to fish”

Short term goal is to get them self sufficient.

As they just get in Uganda, they still haven’t know more about Uganda yet and their where about. So, I may try to keep my heard up and use my personal revenue to support them for about four month, pay their rent, pay some few expenses and food every month.
I know I am not be able but if I commit myself to this, it may help not putting the donation that good will people are give at risk, I can use a little bit to complete to difference those month that I can’t afford.

Why do I want to put the load on my heard yet the people are willing to help?

One, is because when people help someone, they expect they help to make a difference in that someone’s life. And if I rush to use the people’s help to send them every month, I am end up running out of money after a year or two and do not know how long God will keep blessing those good will to keep giving. Therefore, that donation money may need to be saved and used on something productive that, the donors may see that their effort isn’t falling on ducks back.

What will I do after four or five month?

Now, after couple of month, I will see how much the donors were able to help with and how much we had saved then, asked my father, mother ,young brothers and sisters to seat down and see what they can do on their own to be self sufficient and supportive.
I have couple of ideas on the back of my mind but I may not impose because they are the one that will have to run the project and they need to do something they are confident it will be successful. This is to help them to pay their own rent, kid’s education, medical emergencies and food, just the basic of living as I am working on the final re-unification here in the USA.

After they come with the idea, what’s next?

On the other end, I am working on my citizenship in the US and with the green card I am planning to go and visit my them for the first time after 12 yrs and will take that opportunity to go and help them start the project. That will be safer than sending them a huge amount of money and ask them to do it on their own. I will get there, see what they have in mind and work with them to get it established and then return to the US and support them for two more months before letting them go on their own. And I will start focusing on the reunification paperwork and my personal goal so that when they come I may not be in a vulnerable position so help them settle here and get start as I believe, it won’t be easy when the get here either but if we use the donation well and I conduct myself well it may be well prepared for them to struggle much as I did when fist get here. And they donor may get a chance to look at the work of their good hands and not forced to help again when they get here.

Conclusion

This is the short term goal which is of helping them survive over in Uganda and be independent until the day God wills open doors for them to join me.
